  1. Getting Started
    Authors need to submit their manuscripts through the online submission platform available at https://acspublisher.com/journals/index.php/jfdr/about/submissions.
    Articles submitted as hard copies are not accepted.
    All first-time users need to register themselves. Registration is free. Once registered, authors can use their username and password to submit and keep track of their articles. In case of any problems, the author can contact the Technical Assistance at support@acspublisher.com

  2. Types of Manuscripts  Journal of Food and Dietetics Research publishes manuscripts in the following categories:
    Manuscript is in accordance with article types and strictly adheres to the limits prescribed for the number of words, references and of figures/tables is within the stipulated limits:
  • Original research article (Abstract: 300 words, Manuscript: 6000 words, 25 references, 6 tables & figures combined)
  • Review article ( Abstract: 350 words, Manuscript : 7000 words, 50 references, 8 tables & figures combined)
  • Short communication (Abstract: 150 words, Manuscript: 2500 words, 15 references, 3 tables & figures combined)
    Any additional tables and figures as supplementary material can be uploaded as separate file during submission of article under ‘Upload submission’.
  1. General Information
    Journal of Food and Dietetics Research (JFDR) publishes original works and findings that contribute to the advancements in the field of Food science, Clinical nutrition, Dietetics and its relevant fields.

Author Responsibility

  1. The journal accepts only original work that has not been published elsewhere. All authors must confirm that neither the manuscript nor any part of it was written or published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  2. The authors need to identify one author who will correspond with the Journal office in all matters related to the manuscript called the Corresponding Author. The content of the final manuscript including changes suggested by the Editor or reviewer of the manuscript is the responsibility of the corresponding author.
  3. Author(s) should get consent from the original copyright owner(s) for reproduction of any table(s)/figure(s)/ diagram(s) and appropriately reference/acknowledge in the text of the work intended for publication.
  4. It is author(s) responsibility to acknowledge any funding received in the text of the manuscript as stated in the guidelines.
  5. Include only those authors who have contributed meaningfully and have made primary contributions (like Concept and design of the study, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data and writing of the paper etc.) to the work. It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that every author has read and approved the manuscript before submission.
  6. If any reader informs any scientific discrepancy through a written communication to Editor-in-Chief or the publishing Editor, Author(s) should provide acceptable scientific justification and/or a rebuttal. This may or may not be published and the decision solely lies with the Editor and the publisher of the JFDR.
  7. The research submitted by the authors should have been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner. Authors should have received appropriate consent and ethical clearance wherever applicable and the approval code or number should be stated in the manuscript before submitting to the JFDR.

The Journal of Food and Dietetics Research (JFDR) insist to agree upon standards of expected ethical behaviour for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer and the publisher. Plagiarism Policy

The journal follows the plagiarism check of all submitted articles to JFDR using the Turnitin software. Any manuscript with plagiarism more than the journal norms will be rejected immediately.

  1. Preparation of the Manuscript
    a. General Instructions
    1. The manuscript should be prepared in Open Office or Microsoft  word single-spaced, with a 2.5 cm margin, 12-point Times New Roman font and justified with employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
    2. Authors must include continuous line numbering on all the manuscript pages and, the pages should be sequentially numbered.
    3. The pages of the manuscript should be numbered on the bottom right corner.
    4. The manuscript should be written in American English.
    5. The author should write the full term for each abbreviation at its first use in the title, abstract, keywords and text separately unless the abbreviation is a standard unit of measure.
    6. Manuscripts will be altered to meet the style guidelines of the Journal of Food and Dietetics Research.
    7. The authors are requested to check the manuscript for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors before submission.
    8. Headings and titles must be in sentence case and not in Capitals.

          b.Organization of Sections in an Article

  1. 1 Abstract
    i. An abstract is required for all categories of manuscripts. The abstract should not exceed 300 words.
    ii. For an original research article, the abstract should be structured with Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
    iii. No abstract should contain any figures, tables, or references, trade names, or manufacturer’s names.
  2. Keywords
    Provide up to five keywords at the end of the abstract for all types of articles.
  3. Introduction
    i. All articles need an Introduction that describes the objective of the investigation.
    ii. The author should clearly state the specific goal or purpose of the article, and indicate why it is worthy of attention.
  4. Materials and Methods
    i. The important materials and the methods used in the study should be described in detail.
    ii. Known methods have to be with citing references and new or modified methods may be described in sufficient detail format.
    iii. Evidence for approval by a local Ethics Committee (for both human as well as animal studies) must be supplied by the authors by providing ethical approval number with date.
    iv. The statistical methods used for the study should be clearly mentioned.
  5. Results and Discussion
    i. All results should be in a clear, logical sequence and should adhere to the specific objective of the paper.
    ii. Data presented in tables should not be duplicated in the text.
    iii. Use graphs as an alternative to tables with many entries; do not duplicate data in graphs and tables
    iv. Extensive citations and discussion of published literature without importance to the results of the work should be avoided.
  6. Acknowledgements
    This section includes the acknowledgement of the research team members or any person who has supported to complete this work.
  7. Funding Sources
    The author should mention the source of financial support if any with the grant number provided to facilitate the research work.
  8. Conflicts of Interest/Competing Interests
    i. All authors must disclose any and all conflicts of interest they may have with the publication of the manuscript or any institution or product that is mentioned in the manuscript and/or is important to the outcome of the study presented.
    ii. Authors should also disclose any conflict of interest with products that compete with those mentioned in their manuscript.
  9. References
    References follow the APA guidelines. APA in-text citation style uses the author's last name and the year of publication, for example: (Field, 2005). For direct quotations, include the page number as well, for example: (Field, 2005, p. 14). References are to be numbered sequentially in the order in which they appear in the manuscript. Reference numbers are typed as superscripts, enclosed by square brackets, after the punctuation mark at the end of the line.

  1. Spread plate technique was adopted to isolate discrete colonies.[1]
  2. Screening and isolation of alpha-amylase producing fungi and bacteria from marine water were reported by (Field,1980 and Pretorius et al. 1986).[2,3]
  3. Different sources of fungi (seventy-eight strains of Aspergillus oryzae) were reported to be isolated from soils of different habitats by serial dilution method (Clark et al., 1958).[4]

  1. Tables, figures & illustrations
    While presenting data, authors should anticipate the limitations set by the size and layout of the journal. Large and complex tables, figures and maps should be avoided in the main paper, but can be included in a data appendix for use by the reviewers and can be uploaded separately while submitting the manuscript

    i. Figures should be saved in a neutral data format such as JPEG, TIFF or EPS. No PowerPoint, pixel-oriented programmes and Word graphics should be submitted. Scanned figures (in JPEG and TIFF formats) should have a resolution of 300 dpi (halftone) or 600 to 1200 dpi (line drawings) in relation to the reproduction size.
    ii. Any tables and figures that are included in the main text of the paper should be numbered separately, in the sequence that they are mentioned in the text.
    iii. Each table and figure should be presented on a separate page within the manuscript, with a brief and self-explanatory title. All text should be clearly legible, and all graphics and legends should be easily distinguished when printed in black and white. Tables should use horizontal lines only, with only blank space to separate columns.
    iv. Notes under each table and figure should be used to explain and specify the source of all data shown

    5. Submission of the Manuscript
    Online Manuscript Submission All manuscripts must be submitted online at https://acspublisher.com/journals/index.php/jfdr/about/submissions. You will see the below step-by-step instructions when you are submitting your manuscript.
  1. Start
    Submission Requirements
    You must read and acknowledge that you've completed the requirements given under this section before proceeding.
  2. Upload Submissions
    Upload the following files to the journal using “Add File” (Right corner) button under this section
    a. Cover letter file:
       Authors must enclose a cover letter specifically covering the following aspects –
    i. The type of article being submitted (original research article / review / short communication/case report)
    ii. A statement on conflict of interest, if any or otherwise.
    iii. The author should clearly mention about the originality of work, its non-submission / consideration in other journal
    iv. A statement to the effect that all authors have read and approved the MS; and, that all are aware of its submission to JFDR
    v. Transfer of copyright to the journal approved by all authors
    b. Manuscript file
    i. The document should include the title, abstract, keywords, manuscript body including tables and figures, and references. This must be in the MS word document format.
    ii. Acknowledgment, funding and conflict of interest statement should be given before reference in the manuscript.
    c. Suggesting Reviewer details file:

     Prepare the below required details of the reviewers in a word file and upload the same.

 i. Authors are asked to facilitate the review process by providing the below details of at least four to five suitable reviewers, on the understanding that the editor is not bound by any such nomination.

    Under this give your MS title and subtitle of not more than 50 characters (including spaces). Add your abstract and list all the authors of the MS under “List of contributors”. You can add any additional information at the end of this page related to the MS.
  2. Confirmation
    After you uploaded all the documents, once again go back to review and do your final check whether all the required documents has been uploaded, when they are ready do the final submission.
