Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The International Journal of Rehabilitation and Special Education (IJRSE) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics, based on the guidelines developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We are committed to ensuring that all submissions are evaluated solely on their scientific content and are free from any form of malpractice.

Evaluation of Manuscripts

All manuscripts submitted to IJRSE are assessed based on their scientific merit and originality. We take measures to ensure that all submitted papers are original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to certify that their research is their own original work and that any use of others’ work is properly cited or quoted.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

The Editorial Team, which includes the Editorial Board, Editorial Staff, and the Publisher, is responsible for making publication decisions. Editors have the authority to accept or reject articles and may consult with reviewers and other editors when making these decisions. Manuscripts are evaluated without regard to the authors' personal characteristics or affiliations, including gender, race, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views. Editors must avoid any conflict of interest and maintain strict confidentiality regarding manuscript submissions. Errors identified during the review process should be corrected while maintaining the anonymity of reviewers.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer review is essential to our editorial process. Reviewers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and to provide objective, clear, and reasoned evaluations. Reviewers should declare any conflicts of interest and must not use information obtained through peer review for personal advantage. They are also responsible for identifying any relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and for reporting any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published works.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must present accurate and original research, including a thorough discussion of the significance of their findings. They must ensure that their submissions are original and not under consideration elsewhere. If other works are used, they must be appropriately cited. Authors should seek permission for the use of copyrighted materials and ensure that their work complies with copyright laws. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Proper acknowledgment of contributors and funding sources is required, and any significant errors discovered after publication must be promptly reported to the editors for correction or retraction.

Peer Review Policy

IJRSE employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure that only high-quality research is published. Manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editors and, if they meet our criteria, are sent to experts for review. Reviewers assess the originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and clarity of the manuscript. Authors are usually informed of the review outcome within 2-8 weeks. Revised manuscripts are expected to be resubmitted within 3 weeks.

Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication

Plagiarism is the unethical use or imitation of another author's work. IJRSE does not tolerate plagiarism or self-plagiarism, where substantial parts of an author's own previously published work are reused without proper citation. Manuscripts with more than 20% plagiarism will be returned to the authors for revision. Failure to reduce plagiarism will result in rejection. Duplicate publication, where the same research is published in multiple journals, is also not allowed. If detected after publication, the journal will retract the paper and notify the author’s institution and funding agencies.

Article Withdrawal and Retraction

Articles may be withdrawn before formal publication if they contain errors, are duplicates, or violate ethical guidelines. If a serious ethical breach is discovered post-publication, the article may be retracted, with a retraction notice issued. In cases where errors could impact public health, the original article may be replaced with a corrected version, linked to the retraction notice.

Proofs and Reprints

Authors will receive email notifications to download PDF proofs. Corrections must be returned within 48 hours to avoid delays in publication. Excessive corrections at this stage may incur charges. If authors fail to return proofs promptly, the Publisher may proceed to press without the author's corrections.
