Abstract

A rare case of Perosomus elumbis (Acaudatus) fetal monster in a 7 yrs old Murrah buffalo and its successful management by cesarean section. A Murrah buffalo was presented to obstetrical ward, VCC, COVAS, Udgir with history of completed gestation period with ruptured of water bag 7 hrs ago and straining with failure to delivery the fetus per-vaginum. So, cesarean section was performed. The fetal monster was enumerated as “Perosomus elumbis” as the partial agenesis of lumbar, sacral and coccygeal vertebrae and ankylosis of the hind limbs after thoracic region was noticed.
