Abstract

An investigation carried out to study the effect of two levels of prunings (40 and 60 cm above ground) and two concentrations each of the growth regulators, the gibberellic acid (at 50 & 100 ppm) and cycoal (at 750 and 1000 ppm) on Jasmine (Jasminum sambac L.) under Konkan conditions revealed that pruning done at 60 cm above ground coupled with application of gibberellic acid at 100 ppm resulted in significant increase in the plant height, number of primary and secondary branches, girth of primary branch at base, number of leaves, average plant spread, leaf area, flower, bud length and width, number of flower buds plant-1, number of days required for flower initiation, duration of flowering and flowers, yield plant-1 and kg ha-1 of jasmine flowers under Konkan conditions of Maharashtra.
