Abstract

The field experiment was carried out at Agricultural Research Station, Awashi Tal-Khed Dist-Ratnagiri during summer 20013-14 to study the effect of pre-sowing seed treatment of GA3 on growth and yield of okra. The treatments involved five concentrations of GA3 (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 ppm). The results indicated that the maximum plant height, number of branches per plant, number of fruits per plant, yield per plant (g) and yield per (q ha-1) were recorded in the treatment T4 (75 ppm GA3). The growth parameters and yield increased with increasing GA3 concentration up to 75 ppm and reduced in the treatment T5 (100 ppm GA3), which was at par with treatment T2 (25 ppm GA3).
