Abstract

Voluntary Retirement Scheme has been taken upon by banks as a restructuring strategy -in order to resize itself so as to be competitive globally. This offer received an overwhelming response from eligible employees of 18 Public Sector banks. However this move has been viewed in different perspectives by employees at large. This paper aims to gain an insight into the factors underlying the employees' decision to opt for the scheme and also take stock of the bank employee's perceptions as regards VRS.
