Abstract

The work of Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni does not specifically highlight or promote  socialism as a political ideology. She writes less about particular political or economic  institutions and more about topics of cultural identity, interpersonal connections, and the  immigrant experience. It is important to note, too, that Divakaruni frequently discusses  social justice problems and examines the struggles experienced by marginalised people in  her novels. Her writing highlights the injustices and disadvantages that immigrants, women,  and people from various socioeconomic backgrounds face by shedding light on their  experiences.
