Abstract

Soil macro-fauna is an important cocontributor to soil health. Macrofauna supplements impportanortant nutrients to the soil and mixes the nutrients with h tthe soil as addition, the macrofauna’s biological gical activity brings about positive changes in the soil suchsuch as increased soil porosity. Earthworms are agriculturaralllly very important among all the soil fauna in terms of theiheir contribution to soil health. The life table attributes attributes of earthworms, however, are posed with several challenchallenges due to over-exposure to chemical pesticides and and ferfertilizers. Several reports have now confirmed that the e c chemicals used in the soil cost the soil-resident earthwrthworms in terms of their longevity and reproductive potenttential. The present review covers the harmful effect of chemchemical fertilizers with a special focus on macrofauna- i.e eai.e earthworms.
